Well, Hello Everyone.
I Have A Few Notes.
Firstly, I have a Brother who basically..has gone completely bonkers. One of his very close personal people, have passed on, and now he believes he can.. "See" him. At first we thought it was just hallucinations. But then he had a conversation on the couch with his "Friend" which wasn't actually there. You see, his friend died in the Hospital, and now he claims he can see him. Orange hair, Hospital gown, the stitches in his leg, the scar under his bangs. The whole deal. It may just be a phase, considering he has been starring out the window non-stop for the past 3 days. Is he insane? I am working with a doctor to arrange a meeting.
I'm scared. Now my brother is saying that his "Friend" says he isnt supposed to talk to us anymore, because we no longer believe in his existance. Does anyone out there believe him about this nonsense? I know it's a possibilty that his friend might still be hanging around, but the fact that only my brother sees this..It's bothering everyone. Advice?

Re: Partially Insane
First off, how old is your brother?
It commonly happens to younger children, especially before the age of the realization of death. I'm not sure what kind of household you live in (christian, etc) but if it has not been drilled into his head that "dead people go to heaven" to put it frankly, he may still believe he is there because he does not know where else he would go.
If your brother is older, I'd say about 7 and above, then a serious point in life like this can often show the child to have mental problems otherwise hidden - I'm not saying your brother is insane, but things such as ADHD can be revealed after a major event like this.
Now you've booked a doctor, great, so any mental health issues could be addressed. If you do live in a christian household though, I'd have a chat with him softly on the fact that his friend is up in heaven now, and he's looking down on him from the stars.
I've had personal experience with my sister going through a phase like this - a simple explanation on heaven worked really.

Re: Partially Insane
Actually he is 17. Which makes us even more worried.
And he is an Athiest.
We don't really live in a specific religion household considering we all believe in our own thing.
I for instance, am an Athiest,
As well as he.
My sister Kourtney is a Christian, but doesn't attend church regularly.
We have booked a doctor, indeed, but it's the fact that everytime we try to speak to him about the topic of his friend no longer actually being here, he says: "Are you blind?! He is sitting right there! gosh why is this family so rude! be nice to your guest! he's freezing and doesn't have socks! I need to get him socks. And make his leg stop bleeding!" Then he doesn't talk again. That..Is freaky.

Re: Partially Insane
wow, seems like he was really hit by the death. hope I didn't offend with my age guesses.
A doctor is probably all you can do, I guess, as he's much too old for any of my methods. Good luck though darling.

Re: Partially Insane
i dont know alot about this topic but maybe a counselor or a therapist so if he cant ge over the death he can let his feelings out
Re: Partially Insane
Hm. Yes, I am Most Certain He needs help.
Yesturday, we, (Me and My Half-Sister) drove around for about 2 hours looking for him. When we finally found him, he was standing by the edge of the road having a conversation with a bush..
I honestly have run out of things to do for him. I know he wont very much like the fact of going to a doctor. He thinks we believe he is crazy, which is somewhat true, but not exactly why we are doing this. It may not be a matter of taking him to a therapist, but will he accept that death has taken a toll on his friend, and he is gone?

hmm you should keep some knock out darts quickly because if his "friends" tells him to do something i have a feeling he will this is just to keep you safe so dont let him know.
