The reasons why Russians are little pissed off at American involvment, is because, Libya.
Obama along with NATO leaders planned to coup against Qadaffi in 2011 simply because he was beginning to preserve oil to sell at a later time in period to get more money out of this. It's well known that every country that produces oil does this, but it's Quadaffi. The West doesn't like him.
In the decades of Quadaffi's regime, Libya experienced massive growth of civil rights(ups and downs here and there), economy, literacy rate, quality of living, and almost wiped out poverty, and was a strong advocator of sex and race equality. His reign has had a lot of bumps and turns like any other ruler, but his good had greatly outweigh the bad.
NATO, and especially America has a problem with this and Quadaffi's regime when he began helping, both economically and militaristically other countries in Africa who were interested in socializing their country similar to Libya's system. Quadaffi gave tons of money to Nelson Mandela and urged the world to get into the matter and was the first country to support Nelson Mandela's movement. Libya was also the first country to push for a neutral agreement between Israel and Palestine, and was the first country to call for Saddam Hussein's coup when he launched chemical weapons at Iran. He was obviously hushed up since America helped Iraq get chemical weapons.
So, as a clear leader of Arab peace(to an extent, obviously), A majority of the world was extremely pissed off to see NATO and America overthrow Libya. They were even more pissed off when the new Republic of Libya began to roll back and destroy the massive 26.8 billion irrigation system that expanded civilization and created new jobs and homes, and tear down many universities, hospitals, schools, and malls Libyans worked so hard in building.
This was obviously done in the interests of America and NATO and even though the world protested it, nothing was done to stop it. So now all of a sudden a country besides America or those in NATO have done something similar, in this case Russia, all of a sudden the world throws a fit, calls Russia out and says it's unethical to force a country to change something to another's desire. I'm not saying what Russia is doing is right, but it's a painful double standard.
And, since 1945, America has overthrown other democracies/democratic states for similar reasons. They acted independently, advocated for freedom and reform while not wanting to be with America, or they messed with America's economic interests, or a combination of both. A total of 53 countries has America tried to and/or successfully overthrown because that country did something America didn't like, and no one protested it. If they did, they were hushed up. And all of a sudden another country does the same thing and everyone looses their shit? I think not.
So yes, there's an outrageous double standard. Is Russia right to demand the noble peace prize be stripped? Eh, idc. But what Russia has a right to complain about is the stupid double standard.
