(Amiibo Drinking Game: Drink every time I say amiibo)

A new Nintendo Direct was broadcasted yesterday, announcing some new games:


A new Fire Emblem title, literally named Fire Emblem. Working title, though. New challenges never before seen, says Iwata.

A game very popular in Japan, called "Puzzle and Dragons Z". Kinda like Pokemon Trozei, and Digimon. Also, a new Mario spinoff, simply titled "Puzzle Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition." It's a team game, with up to 5 party members. Available in May.


Pokemon Shuffle. Available in the Nintendo Eshop, downloadable for free. A Trozei/ main series game mix, you match Pokemon to defeat another Pokemon. Like a Facebook game, basically, where you have to wait for hearts to recharge.

A new software, I think, for playing old Wii games on the Wii U. Games like Super Mario Galaxy, the Metroid Trilogy, Kirby's Adventure Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns. These games release as follows: Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Jan 14th, Donkey Kong Country Returns on Jan 22nd, Metroid Trilogy on Jan 29th. For the first week after release, the games will be half price. They will be 17.99 - 19.99 afterwards.

On April 24th, Robin, Lucina, Wario, Charizard, Ness and Pac-man will be available as amiibo. Also, 6 new amiibo for a new Wii U Mario title: Mario, Peach, Toad, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser. They can be used for SSB4 too, so hey, that's a cool thing.


Using Toad's amiibo on Captain Toad Treasure Tracker will allow you to gain a new mode, called Hide and Seek, where you search for pixelated Toads.


Mario Party 10 updates: A new Bowser minigame where one person plays as Bowser and tries to take down the other players. You can use the following 9 amiibo with the game: Mario (both), Luigi (both), Peach (both), Yoshi (both), Bowser (both), Toad, Rosalina, Donkey Kong and Wario. Using an amiibo let's you unlock a new mode called "amiibo Party", where the amiibo scanned will be displayed as board counters, like Smash Tour where you gain power ups to help you defeat your enemies, like the Giant Mushroom, the regular Mushroom, etc. Each character has their own special location, like Luigi's Poltergust, which takes coins/ stars from other players. It will be available for download on March 20th. A bundle includes the game and a Mario amiibo.


Bandai Namco produces a new action game with four players working together to complete different stages. The basic idea is to disarm traps, rout enemies and get treasure. It's free to download from the Eshop. Anyone Nintendo Networker can play, as long as their Wii U has internet connection. The game's actual title and launch date are unknown so far, but the tentative name is Project Treasure. Exclusively for Wii U.


A game most should be familiar with, Splatoon, where your objective is to turn the whole arena the color you are, e.g. blue. A place called Plaza is also available, where you will find other "Inklings" from Miiverse walking around. You can also share messages with them. The Raj Building (this is probably not the actual name, but his accent was too stronk) is where you fight online. Splatoon also allows you to customize you characters and weapons with the money you get from Ink Battles and spend it at the Shopping Centre, which is home to a weapons shop, a headgear shop, a clothing shop and a shoe shop. In the plaza, you can freely customize your character. Primary weapons are the weapons you use to fight and paint the ground, secondary weapons being the ones you use to hold off enemies and special weapons. The items you wear, such as your headgear, shirt and shoes, effect your defense and speed. Splatoon is scheduled to release in May.


Another new game that takes place on a mysterious planet, the game is called Xenoblade Chronicles X. It's an open world RPG, in which you explore the world of Mira. The trailer mostly shows off the areas and great graphical design. It didn't really show the main protagonist, but since a girl narrated it, it's female. The game will definitely be available in 2015.


Mario vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars, a game not heard of since last E3. Like previous games in the series, you must direct your toys to the end of the level through various ways. Also like past games, you can customize levels, but now there's a ranking system in which you rate a player's level with stars. You can use these stars to purchase various parts for new levels. The game is available on both 3DS and Wii U, both available on the Eshop. However, they plan to give anyone who buys the Wii U version a free download code for the 3ds version and vice versa. The game is scheduled for release on March 20th.


Now onto Miiverse, if you ever use it, a guy called Marty (i'm not sure, the accent has won again) has been working on Miiverse for a long time. Now, he's taking a back seat, letting two new people (Chris and Erika) take over. More info are available on these two on another video, but I'm not going in depth.

News for Europeans, the New Nintendo 3DS and New 3DS XL will be coming soon. The New 3DS will be available in Black and White, whereas the New XL are available in Metallic Black and Metallic Blue. Both offer new features, such as the super stable 3D, which doesn't make the screen go blurry when you turn it. An advanced CPU, which allows faster loading of applications, and faster downloads. The new systems also offer Amiibo support, which will become available after a fast software update. As far as I know, they're only compatible with SSB4 for the 3DS, but I'm sure there will be more software compatible with them. Also, the ZR and ZL buttons and the new C-Stick expand your control options. So, if you're used to playing with that thing that came with the 3DS and the extra C-Stick, happy birthday. It seems the C-Stick will turn the camera. The 3DS systems are also backwards compatible, so you can play 3DS and DS titles on it too. The screen becomes 1.2 times larger from the old 3DS to the new 3DS, though it didn't say anything about the XL. You can also customize your system's exterior with cover plates. You can change the front and back covers so you can have a totally unique look. Cover plates that were shown include Mario covers, LOZ covers, OR/AS covers and one more cover I can't make out. There will also be more available in the future, like ACNL, plain colors, etc. It seems that only the small New 3DS will be customizable with cover plates. At launch, charging cradles will be available for purchase separately in black and white. Coming out on February 13th.


A new app called the Nintendo anime channel will also be available. It's a video on demand service available across Europe. You can enjoy many Nintendo licensed animes, like Pokemon, Kirby and Inazuma Eleven. New content is added regularly. It is also free. Planned for release on February 13th.

An update on a game called Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. It is a strategy based game, a fusion between turned based games and real time action, where you use steam to direct your agents to attack enemies. Very comical game design. Each agent has special weapons, like Tom's Punch Gun or Tiger Lily's Medi-Mortar. Each agent also has a special attack. It is the only attack that doesn't consume steam, so it's very special. Some special attacks let you wider areas of enemies, some let you toss land mines to stop enemies from getting closer and some let you deal massive damage to enemies. This series is compatible with amiibo from Fire Emblem, like Marth, Robin, Lucina and Ike. They appear as guest characters, each of them using their respective attacks. They also have special attacks, such as Ike's Aether or Robin's Arcthunder. Codename: S.T.E.A.M. will be available on May 15th.

Another game called Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy + has been remade for the New 3DS, with a few new tweaks on it, including the 3D visuals and the new buttons made compatible with the game. They have also made Nintendo character themed planes, like Mario and Bowser. The fighter jets showcased in-game are actually fighter jets in real life, too. You can customise your fighter jet to gain an advantage, adding parts that increase speed, attack, etc. This game, you guessed it, also supports amiibo. Using amiibo for this game will allow you to unlock new jets based on the amiibo used. Jets based off Link, Zelda and Fox appear. The game will be available in February.

Now, onto Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of MH4U and employee of Capcom says that there will be a special MH4U New Nintendo 3DS XL, a sleek silver color. Players will be able to have more precise control of the camera during combat with the C-Stick. The world of MH4U is now more immersive than ever now with the super stable 3D. Players take on the role of a hunter travelling with a caravan of merchants and craftsmen around the world. Players fight many fearsome enemies, and need to use different strategies to beat them, like attacking from above. The game has 14 different weapon classes, including 2 new ones, so players have a wide arsenal of weapons at their disposal. In addition to the single-player campaign, MH4U allows players to connect with three other players either locally or online to beat quests. This is the first time we've offered fully functional online for Monster Hunter on Nintendo 3DS. Also, an MH4U exclusive demo will be made available soon. The demo includes access to all 14 weapon classes, and a tutorial for new players to get the hang of it. The demo also includes online multiplayer functionality so players can play together. For many players, this may be the first Monster Hunter game they've played, so the tutorial shows the Monster Hunter world from a beginner's point of view. Lastly, a Monster Hunter Puzzle Swap Panel will be released soon, so keep an eye out for it on Mii Plaza. MH4U will be available on Feb 13th worldwide, and it works with the New 3DS as well as the regular 3DS and the 2DS. The special New 3DS will also be available on the same release date. The demo has already been released. People who download the demo today will receive three more codes to pass on to friends.


Now, onto Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, only for the New 3DS/ XL. Your objective is to find the secret of the Monado. This new remake makes full use of the New 3DS controls. Your character's status will be clearly displayed on the bottom screen. There is a bonus mode added to this game. One function is where you can view the 3D models of the characters. This allows you to appreciate the hard work that went into making each and every character model. You will also be able to hear music from the game in this special mode. The game releases on April 2nd.

Now, onto what most, if not every Nintendo fan has been waiting for, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. The game includes improved and cleaned up visuals. There will also be a special edition hardware bundle, including the Poster, the Pin Badge, the game, the steelbook and now, a golden Majora's Mask New 3DS XL! This whole bundle will be available February 13th, along with the New 3DS' and M4HU.

Finally, a brand new game coming to Europe, available from download from the Eshop. A new shooter game with an intense single player campaign. With stunning 60 FPS, take more control with the New 3DS. The game is titled Ironfall:Invasion. The game is perfectly suited for use of the new C-stick. It can be played on either New 3DS or old 3DS and the 2DS.
