size zero models

Postby katterz » 17 Feb 2010, 23:21

rite the reason i have made this topic is beacause i was reseacrchin it one day and wanted to know what you guys thought about it :
think that it is so wrong to have size zero models cuz that just tellin everyone that u have to be that size when you don't because its a health hazzards and it not good for you and i mean that not what attracts lads to lasses and every women is a diffrent size and still looks good because of curves it whats likes a lady i really do think that should have a models of all diffrent sizez cuz no matter what ur size is you still look great t soo wrong though i hate it and i hate it when girls say they want to look like that it like do u know what u shall do to ur body and health if you do.

it is sick to know that so many young girls have died by tryin to become size zero and actucal models that have died because they have staved them self to become thinner because they think that is what models have got to look like when the have'nt!!

y can't the world just see that every women has her own shape and size ans looks amazing no better what she looks likes and her size should'nt really matter because whats makes a women are curves and that what men what not some skinny size zero barbie doll where her clothes like hang off of her it not rite and it not what i wish to see walkin up and down the high street.

but i am glad to say that they are now startin to ban size zero catwalks and what to have cat walks with up to size 16 in it which is much better because it means everyone can show off there curves and still look amazing and sexy in there own way

I remember being a 16 - never again :P

I hate really thin girls, I don't want to lose anymore weight at all! I'm happy as I am,(well apart from a few little things) and think that we should all stop worrying about it really.

I know I'm a hypocrite, don't rub it in -_-

Yes, American sizes are bigger.
English 8 = American 4
English 16= american 12

http://www.onlineconversion.com/clothing_womens.htm
according to this: US 4 = UK 6

And I agree...too skinny is no good.
Women should have curves.

The trouble in the fashion industry is that all those that portray the image of how a woman should look like are not your average straight blokes...quite the opposite.
Those people want women that look like 2 straight lines from every angle, in other words, looking like a 15 year old boy.

I'm a fairly average straight lad, I have no interest in women looking like that.
And to be a bit scientific, it's most likely that males are attracted to healthy curvy women. That's an historic fact just because those women are more likely to bear healthy offspring.
(History, biology and psychology are needed to understand this point.)

here are some facts about size zero models :

Size Zero bust size is 31.5 inches (80 cm), waist 23 inches (60 cm) and hips 34 inches (86 cm). To put this into perspective, the average waist size of a British eight-year-old is 22 inches (56 cm).

It is equivalent to a UK size 4.

In August 2006, 22-year-old Uruguayan model Luisel Ramos died after starving herself. She had tried to live on nothing but Diet Coke and lettuce leaves for three months.

men suffer from it as well and not just young people older people suffer with it as well

sometimes people are naturally very skinny and this can lead to these people feeling self consious and maybe being bullied if a ban was enforced

there is too much publicity on size 0 models and not enough on obese people which is a bigger problem as more people die from being obese rather than being underweight every year

size zero is the correct size for designers clothes

people should be comfortable with their body image and if a ban was placed some may feel uncomfortable

there are many health problems associated with size zero

size zero promotes an unheathly body image for young girls and women

models and designers are suggesting this size is natural and the average size for a women (size 14) is fat
