It's because of worries about deviation from a normal, nuclear family structure. How inbuilt is it in people that parents consist of a mother and a father? The whole mobdset of people will have to change, parycularly with the historical stigma attached to it. The worry is also the psychological affect it may have on a child that they may want to adopt. This is a very cautious step to take, so people are wary. The sound of your tone makes it seem like this is an immediate issue that must be solved now.

My friend Gina who is now 14 years old was adopted by a gay couple when she was 8, and her siblings 6 and 5. She is incredibly obsessed with boys and talks about them all the time and has no problem with gay people. She tells me of fights with her parents I would have with mine. When her parents got a divorce, the fights that came up were almost similar, if not the same as the fights my father and step mom had when they divorced. Her younger brothers saw it as no problem, and all three of them were rather shocked to hear as they grew up, to hear that people think gay people are wrong or disgusting.

It hasn't affected their mentality. They're stil "normal" people, if you'd like to put it like that. And, it has been statistically proven gay people raise children better than straight couples on the sole fundamental that they are eager to have children and raise them, they prepare themselves, and those kids grow up just fine. Though, on the other hand, straight couples don't' always plan on having kids and a majority are "accidents" or were initially planned to begin with, and they grow up just fine too.

In the wild, in almost every wolf pac, a "gay" couple will be formed, or already there to raise the cubs who's' parents have died in whatever setting, and wolf packs are still alive and functioning well. I could give much more social examples of homosexual parents in the wild but that will be going a bit off topic.

Being raised by homosexual parents won't affect the mentality of their children in a negative, nor positive way. It's just normal parenting.
