Hacker group Anonymous declares war on Donald Trump, claims responsibility for taking down one of his websites

O oh now he's in trouble.

Hacker group Anonymous have “declared war” on controversial US presidential candidate Donald Trump – the internet collective claiming responsibility for briefly bringing down a website owned by the billionaire overnight.

The Trump Towers site, trumptowerny.com, went down for around an hour yesterday, reportedly in retaliation for Trump’s recent suggestion to ban “all Muslims” from entering the US.

The real estate mogul made the remarks in the wake of the Paris terror attacks and the shooting at San Bernardino, California, which the US classified as a terror attack.

A twitter account attached to Anonymous claimed they had brought down the site.

“Trump Towers NY site taken down as statement against racism and hatred,” the Twitter handle, @YourAnonNews, tweeted.

Earlier in the week, the group uploaded a video on YouTube, threatening Trump to “think before” he speaks.

“Donald Trump think twice before you speak anything. You have been warned Mr. Donald Trump,” a member, wearing the group’s trademark Guy Fawkes mask, made famous by the book and film V For Vendetta, said.

The group also began the hashtag, #OpTrump, aimed at disabling the billionaire’s online presence.

Most of the original anonymous members were probably exposed a few years back, it was all over the place.
They left the deep web then and became a more sort of "holy crusade against evil" thing, which makes me doubt if its still the same members or just a hoax organization

And indeed taking down a website is cool and all, but anonymous used to stand up for something you know?
Exposing hidden information, creating enemies of world leaderships, etc etc.
And now they're just shutting down the website of someone that actually thinks he can close down the internet if he speaks to bill gates.
They declare war on someone who's fans will only back him up if he gets attacked.
I doubt there exist trump voters that got convinced to join him because they saw his website (or that can use the internet for that matter), thus I find this attack just a waste of energy
Sorry, that's just not why I liked them in the first place, and why I hope it's another, much more politically driven and pupeteered group rather than the original
