Is it against the rules to pose as a moderator?
Is it against the rules to pose as a moderator?
I just made this topic to try and get the peeps off the chat from arguing. A new rule may come out of this, or an existing rule may be abandoned, frankly, I don't care. Please keep it from devolving into blatant name-calling. Thanks.

Re: Is it against the rules to pose as a moderator?
I think the rule is good in some ways, but in others it just makes things hard. Like when there're NO mods AT ALL and I start reminding people of the rules because they aren't following them, and they say 'There's a rule against not acting like a mod' ... Yes there is, so what do I do if there ARE no mods?! This confuses me !!

I'm reminded that I should be getting over it.
Re: Is it against the rules to pose as a moderator?
thank you woofwoof.
It is a rule that is indeed open to interpretation.
the following interpretation should be used:
NOT to be done = bad:
"I'M a MOD, OBEY ME" when you're in fact not
"BAN!!!!" when you don't have the power to do so
"you can't do that" for the slightest break of the rule possible (including saying that when **** appears; it's filtered out, it's ok).
allowed:
"Hi, I see you're new here, could you please stop doing that, it's against the rules."
preferably when there are no mods around, although I don't think any mod would protest to it if you politely inform someone that there are rules.

Alrighty, I understand now. Thanks Hito! I'll be sure to keep being polite about it from now on =D

I'm reminded that I should be getting over it.
