Smoking?

Do any of your relatives smoke? (I'd hope you don't, not only are you likely to be underage but it's also yuck)

What do you think about it? Do you worry that because your parents/relatives smoke you'll get ill from it?

Having studied the effects of smoking and working with people suffering from conditions caused by smoking, I know myself that smoking is plainly a stupid thing to do. There is absolutely no reason to do it - pleasure for 5 minutes? How about breathing difficulties for a lifetime?

The amount of people I saw going in, at 40-50, having to have surgery, lung operations, cancer, was astoundingly bad. Every single one of them regretting ever smoking even one cigarette.

It's not cool, clever, attractive. You are 99.9% certain that if you smoke regularly throughout your life, you will die of it - either prematurely or with a painful illness.

Some people can't handle it, others can. My grandfather, he's 70, and he's been smoking since he was 10 years old, and he's still healthy (except for his lungs of course) and he's moving around and thinking as any other 70 year old.

Just, some people's body can't put up with it, others can. In my opinion it's still wrong. I wouldn't do it, and if i had kids, i wouldn't want them to smoke when they're able to.

Which kind? Cigarrates, no thank you.

The other kind I've tried once. Too expensive though.

pretty much all my aunts and uncles smoke its sorta sad knowing they can die but because of this ciggarettes appeal to me. I have never used them but apparently my dad (who used to smoke) said the chance i will smoke is high because all my family smokes. I swear though im going to avoid smoking.

Two of my sisters smoked since they were 16. I, for one, will never drink/smoke.

Same as foop, not planning to smoke or drink alcohol anytime soon.
Father smokes, grandfather used to smoke a lot, quit it in his 60s... It was either hunting rabbits or smoking so... Yeah :P

Alice wrote:The curiosity of having a smoke appeals to people, I guess. It's their decision if they carry on or not. Some do, some don't. The ones that do are the ones who get addicted, get ill and die. Not all do. Pretty much like drinking.

I haven't had one, never will. They smell nasty, look nasty, and they must taste nasty. I remember a time when my friend and I found a full box laying on the side of the road. We wondered, and then we ground them up into tiny pieces. The end. The moral is,don't smoke.

I live in smoke city. Everyone smokes everywhere and it is so hard to find a smoke free zone. The worst part is if someone is smoking in an elevator.

I never smoked, never want to smoke and wish to God it will be universally banned.
