Nationalism....
Re: Nationalism....
If you're really scared about that party, lemme remind you that the conditions that existed during the 30s and 40s were much different than what they are today. Today we have a well connected gloabalised world. Look what they're trying to do to the people in Syria but ultimately we know whats going on over there thanks to the developed technology. Plus, we have a fully functional united nations which is much better than the league of nations which is just a dummy that time. So if at all there is any monkey business going on, the EU and UN will be quick enough to take some action at least because the last thing EU wants is instability in the region.
Things happen for a reason, I wish I knew these reasons.
Re: Nationalism....
the Balkans is already unstable though. that whole region is a powder keg waiting for a match. if the EU were not wanting the instability there they would have avoided dipping their hands in there at all. the region itself has always been volatile. what with going back to the beginning of the 20th century with the dispute over land and then the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. and more recently with kosovo and then now the greek economic issues.
all that can be said is trouble is brewing again, although how much is yet to be known

Re: Nationalism....
Well last time except for Japan, nobody else had some considerable might from Asia. Today, China, India, South Korea and the ASEAN block can also contribute. Even the United States wouldn't like an unstable Western Europe. So overall there are many wise men. One mad person can ruin everything, so these wise men should keep a watch on the mad fellows.
