Egyptian security forces mistakenly target Mexican tourist convoy

Egyptian security forces have killed 12 Mexicans and Egyptians and injured another 10 "by accident" in an attack after mistaking a tourist convoy for militants they were pursuing in the country's western desert, the ministry of interior said.
seriously, how they made this kind of mistake baffles me. Regardless, I would never go on a holiday to Egypt until all this crap has passed... probably in 30 or 40 years time.
very sad for the tourists who were probably having a great time until being shot dead by mistake.
