Also tbh, I don't think I'd call this a legit error.
Like who the hell shoots down a Russian plane, even if its like 2 km in your airspace...
I mean Turkey is doing exercises in the Aegean (well, above it) all the time and its all chill.
So shooting down a plane of a country legit ready to shower you with fire, must at the very least be some extreme action by an individual, or part of something larger.

Turkey should have simply escorted the Russian jet out of it's airspace... that is normal practice. What Turkey did shows that they are realllly upset with Russia bombing their allies in the Syrian war. Though this is a miscalculation and will just make the situation horrible between the two countries and Nato. Turkey needs to learn some self control.

I bet my money on oil, since Russia mainly bombs ISIS oil trucks and such, and it is known to some extent that the Turkish govt has dealings with ISIS over it.
So that could make sense

Well, Russia said they admit to it, but they are sending air defence missiles to Syria so I suppose no nuke rain yet
