Swiftly, the hatchet falls
Breathy condensation stops

Swift-ly the ha-tchet falls, That was 6 syllables regular haiku's are 5 (next line) 7 (next line) 5 FYI

The Slaughter

The rich autumn forest,
is where I peacefully lie.
Leaves of all magnificent shades,
flutter and dance nearby.

With my feathers so sound,
perfectly balanced symmetry.
While my ruby wattle hangs,
a dazing sight to see.

In the deep far yonder,
an instinct crossed my mind.
The sound of raging footsteps,
… the sound of human kind!

I was frantic and bewildered,
in a dark curtain of chill.
Then I bolted for a tree,
and stood in standstill.

I heard the humans creep
and then a blatant boisterous BANG.
Blood gushed out with vigor,
as my lifeless body remained.

I gradually woke up,
my gorgeous pride all gone.
I looked around … a knife.
and I knew something was wrong.

I have ventured into oblivion,
the stomach of mans.
There I met potatoes and carrots,
and the pie of pecan.

My journey must end,
six hours later I came out.
Inside a putrid water tank,
and then, a watery black out.

Hope this poem can last, all the other entries will be tough compition

Hopeless Turkey

I am THE TURKEY
I wonder why I get hunted each year.
I hear the gun shots hitting my feathers.
I see my brothers dying each day.
I want to prove the TURKEYS can fly.
I am THE TURKEY

I pretend I can hunt the humans (wink wink nudge nudge)
I feel like the king bird of the animal kingdom.
I touch starving humans in need.
I worry that TURKEY is too yummy.
I cry when my feathers get plucked …
I am THE TURKEY.

I understand that each thanksgiving you must have me.
I say that ALL TURKEYS can succeed.
I dream that we won’t eat TURKEY. (That’s not happening)
I try to “leave the thanksgiving radar”
I hope to survive this year’s TURKEY Slaughter Day.
I am THE TURKEY.

My second entry...
