Now I know why its legal to drink once you turn 21.
Because most 21 year olds are in college, and college is overly stressful and tends to push you to your breaking point and then you get discouraged...
Therefore once you're 21 you can legally drink and wallow in your discouragement till you pass out...and the government benefits from your misfortunes because the more you wallow, the more you drink, and the more you drink, the more you pay!

It's more dangerous to have the legal drinking age at 21 and advocate alchohol as taboo.

In Argentina and Europe, the culture opens alcohol to young people as a way of culture. Kids are given very small amounts of wine or beer during family dinners and are told to drink moderately. They see their family drink responsibly and such, they take on after it. This kind of attitude to alcohol is stressed in these areas so when kids are able to drink at ages 16-18, it's already drilled into them in a natural fashion to actually drink responsibly, instead of the American way of making it taboo, which in fact makes young adults and such want it more.

Now what you're saying is right, that is a good point to be made and is most likely why the legal drinking age is at 21, I just thought I'd introduce how other countries treat alcohol. :3
