Clint doesn't like receiving the things he sells as gifts. Also, no one likes to be given ore, but some villagers like other things you can mine up. Don't click this spoiler if you don't want me spoiling what Clint likes.
Clint's favorite thing is Artichoke Dip

Also, if anyone wants, I could upload a list of the favorite things villagers like to get as gifts.

I need to play this again. I was in winter, and I could not buy seeds for some reason...so I closed the game. Lol. Didn't even bother to look it up.

You can't plant anything but Winter Seeds in the Winter... Nothing grows in Winter...
You're supposed to use the Winter time to upgrade your tools and mine for money and if you see little worm looking things wiggling around in the ground as you're foraging for things then use your hoe on them and you'll get something out of the ground.
I usually just dig around in the dirt a lot during winter because you can find snow yams, then I sell them and get a lot of g.
