Re: Egyptian Revolt
Since so much freakin chaos is going on there, Al Queda will come in, join the revolt, become the leaders of the revolt, then the leaders become the leaders of the country.

Re: Egyptian Revolt
If the muslim brotherhood ends up in power, and the people want a democratic nation, things may get messy. A democracy governed by Sharia law is a contradiction. How can a democracy have rules that dictate that in court, one woman equals half a man?

Re: Egyptian Revolt
There has been much said to stress that this isn't a religious revolution.
This is a revolution for democracy.
Right now it is a military government, right? But the hope is that they only stay in power long enough for some form of democratically elected government to be put in place.
Sure, there may be some more extremist muslim factions represented in a democracy, but that's part of a democracy. Let us remember that by in large most muslims are not extremists. And let us remember that Egypt is not and was not a muslim state.
Having people with crazy views represented is part of a democracy. Look at the U.S, they have Sarah Palin in office.

Re: Egyptian Revolt
things in Egypt seem to turn out like they once were in Turkey.
The thing is that they will never really be like western democracies.
The best thing they can do right now is follow Turkey's example from the past, where the military watches over the secular state of the government.
Meaning that the military watches over that politics and religion are separated.
of course we're not there yet, but let's have a bit of faith.
