The SOPA and PIPA Acts

Postby ghost 9 » 18 Jan 2012, 21:36

Another splendid idea to tear down the economy a bit more, add some more government control to the mix, and raise unemployment! How about a round of applause for the US congress, eh? Sorry for the complete and utter sarcasm in that last sentence. As you can tell, I find their attempt at increasing governmental control to be annoying and a bit oppressive. If you think the same, then please go here: https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/ and sign the petition.
I really don't see why the government should get to control things like this. The internet is a market, and should have limited government involvement, but apparently the government sees it as something that should be oppressed and warped into what THEY want.

The government is trying to take the internet away. Another step of total control from them. They want to craft it the way they see is right. People should have the right to keep it the way it is. America is turning bad,and this is the governments way of "safety proofing" the internet. Vote against it and be one stronger against the tyrants of the government.
I’m officially gone. Who cares? Nobody. This will probably that tiny little memory I remember someday. Thanks for the wonderful time FWGers.

Haha, fun part is that they have no jurisdiction over the internet,as the internet is a european invention to begin with. So this will mainly affect american sites only,or there will be charges.
Another thing is,they're taking down everything having to do with freedom of speech. (Wikipedia etc)
The bill WILL be passed,as there is no alternative. If this happens, most things on the web will need money, whoever takes money pays taxes (usually) and taxes help pay your debt. This policy is the same one Greece took. Make people pay more money so you can earn more... 100% false, but everything has been planned.. After all, think of it: who can now tell about Political crimes? Nobody,as the US will have taken control over the web (Newspapers, television are too obvious to even be mentioned)...
Have fun :D
P.S. youtube, facebook etc are to go down too. I agree about facebook,as (you may not know it) when you dislike some person's page, and they find out about it,they can press charges and earn a lot of money for public harassment etc.
Youtube will ho down for the same reason most likely.
P.S. 2 : Where anonymous failed (or did they?) the US government succeeded. Way to go.

The slow and steady conversion to fascism. Isn't it great to see the government trying to become tyrants? The best part is, Americans will see it as such a small change, they wont protest or anything. Slowly but surely it will end up like Germany after WW1.

Us seems to be converting to fascism. Protest for your rights, and go to the site.

I'm being optimistic about our Congressman. Rather than being malicious, I believe they're just dumber than a doorknob. Signed it, shared on Facebook.
