Well i wont worry about others but i think if you choose immortality and you did choose the immortality of your friends you will never be happy and of course you will never die so you cannot suicide and you will be mad.Back to obsi he wont be happy all his life but he asked that and he have to take responsibility about that so even if shad want to help him he can't do something even you Lukia.

Obee will never go mad because he will find out how to prevent it in a book.Immortality of friends would be resourceful so you could hang out with them etc.Who'd want to commit suicide?Mad people.But not Obee.He'd find a way to prevent madness,as I said before.True there a good times and bad times in life,but I trust Obee will find a way through it.We're only helping him.

Kerek, what if Obe found the women of his dreams, and to see her die 60-90 years later, and even knowing that at moment of meeting each other. That would make him not want to be immortal, so the ideal of his mate being immortal is a good idea.
